Mathews Management is a boutique management company founded in 2005 by Marie Mathews with the vision to cater to a select group of true Artists in growing their overall careers with the focus in television and film.
Marie Mathews is a Los Angeles native who grew up in & around “Hollywood”. She has been managing the careers of actors and musicians for near to three decades.
From the time that Marie began her career in 1989 as an assistant to Bryan Lourd and Josh Lieberman at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), she has been known for her love for talent.
In 1992, Marie joined Tom Cruise and [Tom’s former longtime CAA Agent] Paula Wagner's newly formed production company based at Paramount Pictures, C/W Productions, where she worked in development on the feature films MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and WITHOUT LIMITS (starring Billy Crudup and Robert Duvall).
Due to her passion for working with actors, in 1994, Marie made a move into management and joined Addis-Wechsler & Associates (now Industry Entertainment) where she worked with such talent as Ray Liotta, [French actress] Irene Jacob, Whoopi Goldberg, Ted Danson, Tim Daly, Jeff Goldblum, and Richard Dreyfuss.
In 1997, compelled by the Australian market, Marie became the ‘go-to’ liaison for discovering untapped Australian talent. At that time, some of those gems being Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger, Naomi Watts, Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton, Sullivan Stapleton, Frances O’Conner, to name a few. She consulted on films with Australian elements, including MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2, which filmed in Australia.
In 1998, Marie joined legendary music manager Doc McGhee and started the theatrical division of McGhee Entertainment representing actors and musicians, as well as, overseeing Artists’ image development and media relations for music artists, including Gene Simmons, KISS, Darius Rucker, Hootie & the Blowfish, and Julio Iglesias Jr.
In 2005, Marie started her own boutique-sized management company representing a select group of intriguing Artists in film, television and sometimes music. Marie loves what she does and who she does it for. Marie’s motto is ‘quality, not quantity’.
